Why Start Your Own Business
You’ve probably had ideas floating around in your head for years. Maybe you’re like me, and you started out with a lemonade stand or you created flyers advertising your babysitting services to your neighbors. Whether you’ve always known you were born to be an entrepreneur, or whether this is new territory for you, I’m here to tell you that the best time to start your business is NOW. Truth be told, I had no idea I would actually become an entrepreneur, but looking back, I can see now that I really enjoyed selling things and being in charge of my own income. I wanted to go on spring break in high school, so I got a job working at Baskin Robbins. I wanted to be a Work-from-Home Mom, so I started my own business. You can be in charge of your income and your personal success, regardless of your circumstances. Now is the BEST time to start your own business and take charge of your income and your success. We are living in a time of major technological advances. Never in history has it been so easy to start a company and grow that business with such low start up costs. You can start a website and grow your business through social media for less than $10 per month. That’s bananas! …and amazing news for all of us that are constantly on the move.
Here are a few great reasons why you should start your own business:
You get to share your unique gifts, talents, experiences and expertise with the world.
Can you help people? Can you solve a problem that people are facing? Is there something you know about that you can teach others? Don’t be selfish and keep all of that amazing talent to yourself. You can leverage those gifts and knowledge in a way that can help others and provide income for your family.
You can work from anwhere
If you set up your business wisely, you can create an online headquarters that will allow you to work from anywhere in the world. If you get orders to move, your business moves with you. Your office is wherever you want it to be. You want to work from home in your PJs, go for it. You want to work from the coffee shop, why not? Moving cross country, not a problem-your business can allow you to work from anywhere.
You’re the boss.
No more answering to people that don’t understand you, your lifestyle or the fact that your husbands deployed or he’s only back for three days and you need some time off. You call the shots, you make your schedule and you decide when it’s time to take a vacation.
Your work is based on what you enjoy doing.
No more worrying about what project your employer wants you working on this week or whatever “hot task” they’ve got lined up for you. You get to build your business around the things you enjoy doing and what you’re passionate about. If you want to take your company in a different direction, you can do it. If you want to offer new products, go for it. Do you want to decide not to make a certain product line anymore, that’s your call. If you want to donate a portion of your profits to an organization, it’s your decision. It’s up to you.
You work with who you want to work with.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve had clients I sure wish I could have fired because I really didn’t like working with them. But, in the corporate world, I didn’t have a choice. When it’s your business, you decide who you want to work with and who you don’t.
You will have your own reasons as to why YOU should start your own business. Whatever that reason is, hold on to it, remember it and take action TODAY. Don’t delay. Keep brainstorming those ideas. Come up with products or services you could sell. Think about who you can help and who would be your ideal customer.
